Youth Development
Our youth programs enrich the lives of our students through the delivery of solid academic and social skills. They prepare students to face life's challenges and bridge generational and cultural gaps within the Haitian community.
Ayiti Demen
Ayiti Demen is a program designed to educate young boys and girls on cultural issues. The goal of the program is to raise the self-esteem of Haitian-American youths and arm them with progressive methods of reasoning.
Each Saturday, participants learn about different and important aspects of Haitian culture such as: Folkloric dance, Haitian Creole, Haitian cuisine, Haitian games, and Haitian history.
AFAB also works with young women participating in Ayiti Demen to help them develop leadership skills and empower them to make decisions that will improve the status of women and girls in society.
